Service Description

Brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are abnormal connections between arteries and veins in the brain. People with this condition are at risk for having brain hemorrhage, seizures and strokes. Depending on the size and location of these lesions, there are a number of different treatment strategies that can be used to cure this condition including open surgical resection, stereotactic radiation surgery (SRS), endovascular embolization or a combination of any or all of the 3. Sometimes close monitoring is safer than treatment for some AVMs. An expert opinion is needed to decide which is best for you.
