Moyamoya disease and Moyamoya syndrome are rare disorders that lead to progressive narrowing of the arteries going to the brain. People with this condition have a risk of having a stroke or brain hemorrhage. Many of these patients can benefit from revascularization procedures such as STA-MCA (Superficial Temporal Artery-Middle Cerebral Artery) bypass or EDAS (Encephaloduroarteriosynangiosis) procedures.
